design to quilt a snails trail

design to quilt a snails trail

Postby barbdan » Tue Jul 17, 2012 4:37 pm

I would like some suggestions on how to quilt a snails trail quilt I made. I thought about drafting a feather type of design flowing from the center, getting larger and then getting smaller again as it goes into the next pattern but I need help.

If you watch the latest show, Alex first shows how to construct a cable, but the goes on to show how to put feathers onto the cable, I'm sure that you could use this information to adapt to your quilt.

Not only that they'll eat the snails that left the trails.

Am looking forward to what ideas others come up with - for the quilting  and I need to watch the show and find out how to draw cables. My freehand feathers are getting better 8)

Barbdan - is it possible for you to post a picture of your quilt top so we can see the areas you are thinking of putting your feathers in?
