I have it now :D :D :D This is the first in my collection of small quilts made by others. I fell in love with this one at first sight and it arrived today. It's beautiful.

The flowers look almost 3D with the way they pop out of the border. Enjoy your new quilt. Clara

Zarra, thank you for buying my "Split Daisy" quilt. It is one of my favorites of the eight that I made for AAQI. One of my quilts was also in the auction so now I have sold two. ( I didn't make as much money as Clara but I am pleased with how well they went) I am working on a new group of quilts. I hope to do many more for AAQI. It was a charity dear to my heart because of many friends and family members who were victims of Alzheimer's Disease. Now that it has hit my own home (my dear husband was diagnosed with early Alzheimer's about 18 months ago) so now it is more than a charity close to my heart, it is a mission!!!! My life has turned upside down in a lot of ways. We are lucky, we are still able to do most of the things we had planned for our retirement, but since my husband has always been the primary driver, I know the day is coming when life will change forever. DH can still drive but sometimes "daydreams - in his words" and misses the exit or turns the wrong way. I am the one who is "directionally challenged" so now I have to be on alert and try and figure out the right way to go when I don't even have a clue. Oh well, life will go on and I will learn to cope. Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Ann - the traveling quilter now back in Minnesota.

I have not been online much the last few days. Thank you everyone for your comments. I was packing my car to leave for a few days, when the mail arrived, so the quilt have not been home yet. I enjoy it very much. And Ann your story is touching. I know too well how it is.

Are you on the email newsletter list for AAQI? I just received the latest email and on it had a note about quilts that want to go to Houston and a deadline for submission for review. Sounds like entering into Houston too. Here is a copy of the email with that info.

"If you're making a Priority: Alzheimer's Quilt and have hopes for Houston, get it registered and in the mail by August 31st. That gives our volunteers 6 weeks to receive it, scan it, price it, tag it, and ship it from your house to Illinois, from Illinois to Michigan, and from Michigan to Texas."

Just finished up my quilt top with 8 more on it, got the dyes set, ironed, and basted. Time to quilt like mad for the deadline. So, who is in the race with me. Ok, it's not a race but you know what I mean. No losers here.

Clara

P.S. This will help keep me busy for when the boys go back to school next week which I was nervous about. Mainly because of being in the house all by myself with my thoughts. This will be very good for me. Whew.
