I ran into something interesting today while machine appliqueing. I had turned off my machine because I was not returning for a while, when I came back I set my length and width but forgot to select the zigzag stitch, it was left on straight stitch. I still got a zigzag stitch that actually laid flatter than the zigzag, I usually have to reduce the tension to get it that flat. Is this a quirk of my machine (Bernina 440), is there a difference in the stitches (they look the same)? Just curious.
