So here goes....

There once was a quilter called Nella,
Who tried to convince her old fella,
Of the importance of stash,
Not to hoard all his cash,
Especially if he wanted any dinna!

There once was a quilter called Rita
Who made yummy bread with a beata
With buttermilk salt and flour
It was done in a hour
Oh nothing on earth could be sweeta

There once was a quilter named Rosey
Who loved her big hat with a posey.
She began a swap for some reels
in colors from peaches to teals.
Soon to be a quilt - so cozy!

I like the optimism - I've only just got started on quilting a top I started in 2008  although I am hoping to be a bit faster in putting my Sottts quilt together

Still at least that is going faster than an Old English type Smock I've had on the go for 30 years 8) (I keep getting sidetracked )

There once was a reel helper named Isabeau
Who sorted and counted our reels to sew,
She worked day and night
No end was in sight,
'Til Rosemary said, "It's time to go!"

Rita, I'm not sure if you are referring to me or QuilterLynn, but here goes...

There once was a quilter named Lynn
Who's stash was surprisingly thin,
She hurried to the store,
To buy a bit more,
You can recognize her now by her grin! :D 8)

Now I tag Crocus!

There once was a sewer named Posy
Who began a quilt to be cosy
It's taking a long time to quilt it
A distraction came , she''ll admit it,
She invented a game called ""send me your stuff"
From around the globe, it won't be enough!""
I hope she returns it before her quilt's done
Or else, she'll have another project undone
Beside that, I am sure
There'll be quite a shout
From all of us who sent our strips out!

FYI - The above is a JOKE! Just want to cover my rump in case someone gets emotional or is having a hormonal day. I thank Rosmeary and Lorna for their work and the fun they're giving us. (okay?)

Tag you're it, Lottie

I'm just an interloper, but....

There once was a quilter named Reetz
Her trips through the country were neat
She sang like a bird
Least that's what I heard
And her quilts just couldn't be beat

I am reading the limericks and you guys are not only great quilters you are fantastic poets. Okay, so you have sparked my creative juices. So let's give this a try....

There once was a quilter named PosyP, Lorna, Lynn, Rita, Isabell, and Carol,
They met on this fantastic site called The Quilt Show, wearing their fine apparel,
The fabric started flying and scraps began to fill the trash barrel.
Oh my, we can't waste those scraps. What shall we do... What a peril...
Then, Posyp and Lorna came to the rescue, they pulled the scraps out of the barrel,
Went to work and started to sing a happy carroll.
They came up with this wonderful friendship spool exchange and no more peril.
Oh the fun, and friendships. Let those reels start to roll.

:D

My rhyming and jingle abilities are nil, so asked my dear husband for help--here's what he came up with:

There once was a quilter named Jane
Whose quilts were know for their fame
She quilted a lot
Her body was hot
And her hubby just won't be the same

Yes, he loves me a bunch and exaggerates like crazy
