Formula for half square and quarter square triangles????

Formula for half square and quarter square triangles????

Postby LadyRags » Sat Feb 14, 2009 8:01 am

Long time ago, when I learned to do half and quarter square triangles there was a formula used to cut your fabric so you could sew the triangles and then square it up with very little waste of fabric but you could get a bunch of exact size triangles....

Can you tell me what the formula is?

My GF and I are running away from home ( no hubbies) for the weekend to have our own little retreat. We are meeting at a hotel with sewing machine, quilting equipment at a little B&B that accommodates quilters. It is located equal distant from our homes.

I am posting this in hopes I when I get to the B&B the answer will be here... I tried looking it up in my books but I did not find the answer AND I AM OUT OF TIME... it is time to leave.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

ANNA from snowing again MI

I keep the formulas on my bulletin board in my studio. Got tired of looking them up!
