Sue's Videos

Sue, thank you so much for the great videos! In just a few minutes you provide a lot of valuable and visual information. This is just another reason TQS is such a great bargain--great people, great info, tremendous quilts--thanks to you (and Alex) for providing these videos.

Barbara --
Thank YOU for taking time to post your note on the Forum. Quilting truly is my passion - and I happily share all the tips I can so that others might enjoy it as much as I do!

Again, THANKS!

The videos are a real inspiration and I am loving this quilt. Would never have tried these small little blocks on a whim. My favorite thing about quilting is machine piecing difficult blocks and having the satisfaction that they are done well. Have been using the kit for fabric but would like to try this again with stash and using a few different types of blocks because the floaters would be a big help with any quit.
I have learned a lot with this project. Using Masterpiece thread with the 2ply #50 helps so much with the small blocks. Starching the one inch half square triangle blocks helps in putting those rows together. Have used the paper piecing all the way because I like the results of the perfect size and fit.
From Carol Doak's video I learned to test a matching seam with a basting stitch and this has been a valuable technique in putting those rows of six together (after pressing the seams open and starching the rows).
Look forward to trying a BOM again in the future.

Am finally getting caught up with Sue's fantastic videos!

What clarity. Well filmed too, I might add!

I was also affirmed by the way she encourages changing just one or two things, using floaters, and pushing oneself to think outside of the box.

I find myself doing more of that as I get more comfortable with my skills.

Thanks again, Sue!

See you at Festival 2009!

Lynn :) :) :)

Sue's Block of the month (BOM) videos

Postby Pickleweed » Sun Nov 15, 2009 10:23 am

Hi everyone, I sent a suggestion using the contact form on the website that they put Sue's BOM Videos on a CD for purchase or even in a downloadable file so that those of us that would like to always have them to watch can do so.
I am afraid when the current BOM ends those will disappear and I haven't been able to start the BOM.

Hopefully we can get a good response to this and they will make this available for us.

What do you all think?

Pickleweed - I think that is a good idea. I would be interested in buying a cd of Sue's videos!

Thanks Judy, hopefully others will like the idea too and if they see enough posts I am sure they will consider it for us. Joan

Reply from TQS about Sue's BOM Videos

Postby Pickleweed » Thu Nov 19, 2009 6:40 am

I heard back from The Quilt Show and this is what they said about Sue's BOM videos.
"Although you have to download the patterns by Dec 31, 2009, we will keep the teaching videos up and available on the site. "

That's good news.

Sue's videos

Postby Amethyst » Wed Dec 02, 2009 10:49 pm

I love Sue's videos and am thrilled that they will remain on the website after the this year's bom is removed. I am not up-to-date with my quilt unfortunately. The videos are excellent. I really loved the November video, "What If....".

It sure would be nice if we could save the videos because then we can put the directions and the videos on a CD so they're all in the same place.

Sue's lessons are wonderful and I agree with Frances that it will be great if we can store the videos on a DVD or CD together with the directions.
Is there any chance it will become possible ?
