This is my first time going to Houston. I lucked out and have a room at the Hilton across the street! Major score! My hubby decided he is not up to the trip, so I will be flying down with one or more of my quilting peeps! I have been studying the class schedule. I think I have narrowed down my classes. Count me in on the Thursday night supper, Wanda!

Thanks, Gabber! Hopefully my quilts in Houston will be the ones with the ribbons on them!! LOL!! I'll see if I can post a link so you can see the one with the sheep. The other one I entered doesn't have sheep in it. It is called Alphabet Alchemy and it will be in the small abstract category. The one with the sheep, Alpha'baa't Sampler will be in the whimsical category. Can't wait til November!! http://www.ihqs.org/images/2010gallery/305_Full.html

Janet, I saw Alpha'baa't Sampler at the MQS show in May, and absolutely love it!! Best of luck in Houston! I expect to see a ribbon on it there, too!!

Well if I could just recruit all you fellow quilters to be judges at the Houston quilt show, I'd have it made!! Thanks so much for your kind comments!

A friend and I have had luck staying at one of the Courtyards (Brookhollow I think) and driving into town. Had no problem finding inexpensive parking within a block or two of the convention center. The parking area was to the left as you are facing the convention center and toward the end of that street that runs in front of the convention center. I was able to attend in 07 and 08. Missed last year unfortunately but have already made hotel reservations in March. We drive in from San Antonio on Friday after work and then spend all day Saturday and Sunday trying to see all of the quilts and visit all the booths. Not easy in only 2 days, but always well worth the effort.

Hey guys! I didn't think I'd be saying this again so soon, but I'm going to Houston again!!! Can't wait to see everyone and visit at the dinner! Meeting TQS friends is the best part for me.

Wanda
How will we know where the TQS dinner will be? We will get to Houston about 4:30 on Thursday so will be short on time for exploring that evening.

I am planning on going if my surgery will be done next week, and I get permission to travel by mid October.

I'm looking forward to seeing you there, Margarita! I hope you recover from your surgery as quickly as my MIL did hers, and you are in Houston without a painful hip!

Hope we'll get to meet Maggie. You're going to have such fun at the show.

Margarita good thing you have some time to heal up before then. I've been thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. Now if you could just get the surgery over and start the healing!
