Month Two Ruffled Roses

Are you ready to start another new day with a new pattern? I hope so – life is great and affords us many opportunities to start fresh and new – and today is a great day to start making a new quilt: Ruffled Roses. Each month, you will find the pattern for part of this quilt online. Just print the instructions, cut, stitch, press… and before you know it, time will have passed, and you will be ready to enjoy your own Ruffled Roses quilt. What a wonderful way to start each month!

WOW! All hand-dyed. Great job of dyeing.

I'm still appliqueing my center block but you are all inspiring me! I am not behind, I'm enjoying the process. I've got my fabrics for the lattice, all the 2 1/2" blocks are printed out (thank you again, Annis!!! :D ) and DH Mike is going to cut the fabric for me on his Quiltcut 2.
I'll catch up, don't worry   .

Connie, one of the advantages of being a bit behind the rest of you is that I can read the forum and browse through show and tell and it helps me alot in my colour choices and design. I am enjoying working on my BOM very much but it is sooootime consuming. Everything seems to take four times longer than I expect it to.  However I know that at the end it will have been worth every minute. :D :D

Just finished 112- 2 1/2" paper pieced blocks....... it was fun sewing them, but trimming is another story, lol. Now sew them together and then I get to make some swags!!!

I just finished my lattice border, and am officially starting my month three while it is still month three! But, since I am doing hand applique, and still need to design my corner units, it will take me a while to complete month three. I will take my time and enjoy the process. The lattice wasn't as easy as it looked. It was hard for me to get a stacked (as apposed to nestled up to) chevron to match precisely. But, I am loving all of the color, and know that this next month's border will calm it down a bit. In the BOM Show and Tell most of the pictures are square. So, I challenged myself to try to crop my picture, which is much wider that it is tall. Since I had recently played around in "Paint" I was able to (after a few mishaps :x ) get a fairly square photo that I could save, find, and post! So, now it is on to month three! :D

Very pretty and colorful, Dawn! I understand the difference between stacked and nestled. That's why I pieced mine so they would be nestled. But sometimes you don't have a choice.

Dawn, it's wonderful!!!! I love how bright and colorful your quilt is going to be. I hope you don't tone it down too much with the March additions.
