Stay Cool

Stay Cool

Postby kimmelstacey » Sat Jul 16, 2011 7:25 am

We are bracing for some really hot weather that just doesn't look like it is going to let up. I wish my incisions would heal so that I could go to the pool and just keep cool during this. Oh well. I hope that everyone is well and that everyone stays cool and drinks a lot fluids in the next few days.
Hugs,
Stacey

Thankfully my sewing rooms are in the basement so I'll be cool. Once I get there. DH invited others for dinner tomorrow so no rest for me. I was just at a retreat (not overnight tho) for Friday and Saturday so I should have in enough sewing to last me a bit.

Hope you heal up fast!

Hi, Stacey! Hope your knee is healing well and that you're back to your perky self soon. We're starting "hell week" for the show with just 4 practices left from this afternoon through Wed. evening, then open for 4 performances beginning Thursday evening. We're in the old gym at the elementary school (no AC) with barn fans - in heavy biblical costumes and make-up under stage lighting. I'm trying to think of it as a creative weight-loss opportunity! Mary I have thought about you guys especially with this next week coming. YOu think one of these years they would get you guys a place with air conditioning. Please take care. I wish I could come see it, but sitting that long right now is just not something that is very comfortable for me. Good luck.

Hot, hot, hot here in Michigan too. Our priest said on Sunday, "I have not heard one person complain about the cold weather we had last February!" The congregation thought that was pretty cute!

The wheat is finally ready to take off so my DH is hard at it in the fields. I have A/C but I don't like it set too cool. If i have to wear socks around the house in the summer, that means it's set too low! I like being barefooted. I just got my Bloomin' 9 patch on the frame last week and am working on that when it's too hot during the day/after I get home from work. The hummingbirds and especially the honey bees love my coneflowers, daisies, lavender, delphinium and roses so when it's nearly dark out and the bees have all gone home, I go out and deadhead my flower beds or pull weeds. But not in the heat of the day! NO WAY!

Stacey - Yea, that must be torture to not be able to go in the pool! Hope you continue to heal well, however, and your knee is soon 100%!!

Well I can stand and walk a little bit in the pool now. It is slow going and I am learning to scale back what I do. Frustrating but I know it is important. I should be 100% by October which is a little surprising how long it will be, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I will be close to 90% by Labor day and the rest is just a long time to heal because I need to grow new cartildge.

Stay cool everyone.

SO glad we finally got some rain today! It's been nearly a full-time job, trying to keep the sprinkler moving to the part of the yard that needs it next, and keeping my vegetable garden going. And I already have a job LOL!

As Kathy mentioned, our temps in Michigan last week were ridiuclous. So glad that's over. We simply do not belong in triple-digit land LOL!

I know what you mean April I too have been watering constantly. The rain is a welcome relief and I can't wait for cooler temps. I will take as much rain right now as we can get as we are little behind and my yard needs it.
