Okay, BJ... I tried the YLI invisible thread in the smoky color and used the same settings as for the light one. It worked exactly the same way as the light one--like a charm. All I can suggest is that you try the smoky thread with the settings I posted below and see if that makes a difference. Oyasumi nasai! Renata

Michelle, Thanks for the hint. I'll do just that. Renata, thanks for trying out the smoky. I'll give it a whirl myself next chance I get (trying to finish my perspectives quilt right now).
