11/20/2011: Hello Everyone!! I just wanted to say a few words about International Quilt Festival and add my accolades to everyone else. I had a wonderful time!! And the best part of all was meeting so many TQS'ers. I came early to the Festival to take several classes. Bright & early Monday morning, Dana Lynch phoned me from the airport to make sure that I wasn't too intimidated to go to my first class!! She read my mind and helped give me courage!! In the first class I met Sandra who was from Brazil. She was as lost as I was, but together we managed to find our way to our first class. I also ended up (by chance? Providence?) having an empty chair next to me which was soon filled by a Facebook friend, Elvira, that I knew slightly from a quilt store in my old home state. Certainly, the world is smaller place these days! During lunch, I met another TQS'er, Wilma Moss, who is from Texas. She & I shared several classes together and I had seat partner. :-) In another class, I ran into Dana and g...

10/28/2011: I, too, just finished reading the wonderful article in TQL. Congratulations to you all on a simply stunning quilt!! You all have much to be proud of. I love that I got to show this article to my DH, as the announcement that this quilt had been juried in for Houston started the ball rolling for me to go to IQF!! So looking forward to meeting you all in person ~ AND ~ I am bringing my copy for you all to sign. :-) Smiles, Maureen

08/18/2011: Let me start by saying that I am a lurker ... I watch your blogs from afar and seldom comment. I somehow find it easier to throw a quick comment or two out in Facebook than to come up with several coherant and readable paragraphs here. But, finally (!!) I feel that I have something exciting to say: I'M GOING TO HOUSTON!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I am so happy!! And I am so fortunate to be able to go early for classes. I am bouncing around the room just like Tigger!! I can't wait to meet all my fellow TQS'ers!! A few months ago, my DH sold his classic car and bought me a Gammill Vision 18. He is the best!! I named her Flora Belle and she is friends with Dana's Lily! I have done a few pantos with her, but I just have that inner fear to "let go" and do more. After a phone conversation with Dana (Thank you again for the Glide tip!!) I just couldn't quit talking about their group quit that was juried into Houston. I checked the web site after Hanne-Grete said she h... (read more)

03/09/2009: Wooooooo Hooooooo!! I received my confirmation letter today for the RTQS in Ocala, FL on the 26th, 27th, & 28th!! I am so EXCITED!! Is anyone else going?? I remember someone (forgive me for forgetting!) saying so, but as I wasn't sure of being able to go at the time, I didn't comment. Hopefully I will see LOTS of TQS-ers. :-) Now I have to make my badge!!
