Thank you for the information. We take things for granted but we shouldn't. Bali prints and indigo fabrics are also favorites of mine.

What a great article! Thank you so much for researching this bit of history and making it interesting and informative with your writing. I'm thrilled that I don't need to soak cloth in sheep dung and rancid olive oil to be able to have beautiful red fabric! But knowing its origin makes me all the more thankful!
