Since 1982, Julie Silber has been the curator of the world renowned Esprit Quilt Collection in San Francisco and is the co-author of the critically acclaimed books, Hearts and Hands and Amish: The Art of the Quilt. The remodeled Wine warehouse in San Francisco housed the offices of Esprit as well as the famous quilt collection. Visitors could tour the quilts even as business was going on. It was here that Alex started her love affair with all things Amish.
