The Esprit Collection was wonderful. I would love to know who chooses the music to go with the videos. Whoever it is does a great job.

Wonderful! I lived near Lancaster back in the late '70's and so enjoyed going there to see the Amish quilts. This brought back some wonderful memories. Thank you so very much! I love the simplicity of the design and the detailed, complex quilting that enhance them. I think I will have to try my hand at one of these quilts. There is something so relaxing and meditative about hand quilting. It makes one slow down and think about life.

Thanking you so much for putting this up. The quilts are absolutely amazing. It is too bad that Esprit decided to disperse the collection.

Thankyou for showing these beautiful quilts - I had the fortune to go to Lancaster County quite a few years ago and I was taken with the simplicity of the quilt designs and blown away by the quilting. To be able to see these in this collection has been magical! thank you! Thank you also also to Joe Cunningham for his music. Brenda

They "hope we enjoyed it". Good Grief, it was superb - both the quilts and the accompanying music! An absolute treat. Thankyou so very much for sharing this. I logged on at the end of a busy day and it was just like a lullabye!! Sweet Dreams!

Thank you very much for posting this video. It was being knocked over (metaphorically) by an Amish quilt that pushed me to start quilting a few years ago, and my first quilt was a diamond in the square. I find the Amish quilts to be the most beautiful and powerful in their simplicity.

In answer to the quesion, 'Where are these quilts now?" they are in the Quilt Museum in Lancaster, PA. As a native Lancastrian, I am thrilled to have them "home." I hope you can visit us in Lancaster, to see them in person.

Julie Silber is still the curator and guardian of the quilt collection. She uses them for museum events, lectures and has them for sale. I have been told that many of them are in the Heritage Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Also, be sure to visit www.thequiltcomplex.com to see more.

Thank you so much for this wonderful slideshow! I grew up in Philadelphia and have visited Lancaster County several times. I became a quilter because I couldn't afford to buy an Amish/Mennonite quilt--little did I know how much I would spend as a quiltmaker! Thank you for such a great treat!

Gosh what a treat to see these fabulous quilts. I saw them in SF in the 80s and always wondered what happened to them. Thanks for sharing and the music is wonderful way to enhance the slideshow.

Thank you so much for sharing the lovely photos of the quilts. The music and text were perfect for the beauty and simplicity of the Amish quilts. Where are these quilts now? I hope they are with someone who loves and appreciates them.

Lynndi, I do know this song. It is a variation on the tune Oaken Bucket. The music was written by George Kaillmark 1781-1835. There are words that were put to this tune and the words came from The Psalms of Life, Boston, 1857-1857. The version carrying these words in called "Do What is Right" and is often sung by Christian groups. Clearly, this is Joe Cunningham's interpretation of the piece. Sally

Thank you very much for an exceptionally beautifully and informative video. For someone like me, who most likely will never be able to go and see these quilts in person, it's a real treat. And all complimented perfectly by Joe Cunningham's music! Lorchen

Back in '82 I was working in retail, ladies clothing, later moved to children's, and boy oh boy did we sell Esprit fashions! I wish wish wish I'd known about this then, it might have got me quilting sooner! Florence

That was beautiful! I took a break from quilting to check the site again, and was very pleased to see this video. I was going to ask where the music came from then I thought, 'betcha it's Joe Cunningham" and I was right! Thank you TQS! Joan
