I am working very hard on UFO's this winter and was finishing binding on Super Bowl day. My quilt club is promising a prize to one of the participants that finish one or more UFO's this year. I have finished three projects, have one more hand quilting project to finish, and have started two new projects. I'm not doing it for a prize! I am trying to diminish my stash and have to multi-task. It is my DREAM to someday be working on only one project at a time. I make bed quilts and wearable quilted clothing, along with a few wall quilts.

I spent the day teaching myself to hand quilt with Jinny Beyer's and Alex Anderson's books next to me. It's not as easy as it looks, but I had plenty of time to work on it since we ordered pizza and I didn't have to cook! :) I'm using a hoop, but if I get the hang of it I might have my husband make me a frame.

I attended a Baker's Dozen meeting (1:30 - 4:00PM)where our group exchanged churn dash blocks, then rushed home to host a Superbowl party of 16 guests that began arriving at 4:30PM. So, I had to prepare everything in advance. It turned out very well and the food was a hit with my guests. I served gumbo, Cuban bread, grilled chicken Ceasar salad, BBQ chicken wings, fresh peach cobbler, and party mix. My husband did the grilling while I was at Baker's Dozen. I did a "Show & Tell" with my "Stars for a New Day" quilt top at both the meeting and my party.

Superbowl didn't start until midnight in the UK so recorded and watched it at 8 a.m this morning! I had planned to remove foundation paper from a mariners compass block but the game was so entertaining. Have been watching NFL for over 20 years and think this was one of the best Superbowls we have seen!

I found a great shape for placemats for a circular table. They call it a wedge. So I have been making 4 wedge placemats for my daughter Christina's birthday, for her new round table. They are a Scandanavian paisley, and I'm having way to much fun free motion quilting around every little detail!

Working on my Sylvia Bridal Sampler blocks, but only when the game isn't on. I'm a big Colts fan and during the game I'm focused on football. During the commercials I'll quilt as the commercials haven't been any good the last few years. GO COLTS!

Went to an awesome mini-Ricky Tims Seminar during the day (thank you Ricky for coming to Wisconsin!). Watched the Jinny Beyer video on this site for the 3rd time during the game and roamed other areas of The Quilt Show too.

After the holidays, I just wanted to piece something simple..... that I didn't have to think about too much. So I put away a couple of art quilt projects and brought out a Great Pond Quilt kit..... a handsome Hunter's Star pattern. All the pieces are precision cut for you and the kit even includes the binding. I'll be sewing the borders on during the game..... but I'll stop for the commercials!!! (And the Who!)

No quilting today. Got up at 1 a.m. to try to catch the shuttle launch. Drove across the state and stood in the cold until it was scrubbed. Sat in traffic for hours to get home. Went back to bed until 2 yo grandson arrived to be entertained for the day. Fed llamas, goats, dogs, watered house plants, cleaned house so my son's fraternity can come watch the superbowl here. I'll try to stay awake long enough to watch an ep of the quilt show and knit on the mittens I need to finish for a friend, then go back to sleep.

I am going to watch the super bowl, not that I am a fan of the Colts who stole away out of Baltimore ( when we were stationed in MD ) in the middle of the night before they went to Indianapolis, but I love the commercials. I will be crocheting a blanket for Project Linus to sent to Haiti. Judy in AZ who is happy not to be shoveling out any more

2009 TQS Medallion quilt. I am down to the last two borders, just adding them on. I am not tired of making this quilt. With some quilts I just want to finish it, but with this one I have enjoyed every step.

I need to do a quick clean of my sewing room because we're going to have 60 or more people over for a party. I love the Super Bowl, and the party. This year we are rooting for the Saints because Drew Brees went to the local high school!
