Giday Quilton - Helen here. I find no need to stabilise my fabric before painting - just iron it first so there are no creases to distaught your design. You could pin your fabric to cardboard or sticky tape it to your table top if you wish but we don't. As far as which fabric to paint on..different textures and qualities of fabrc will give a different result. For the really fine detail and absolute control like you see in Gail's iris section, use a fine quality muslin or PFD. This Aussie product also works on silk, wool synthetic, polcotton rayon...anything fabric! I have painted with the Gensis Creations Colour using a watercolour type technique with a big brush and painted directly onto 3 yards of course heavy muslin, not even pre washed to create my "Screeching Cockatoo"...She is huge and has a wingspan the same as me..check here out on my website some time. I simply spread the fabric over the lino in the kitchen/dining room area and had fun with a big brush!

Giday Peter...Helen here. The Genesis Creations colour are ideed colour fast, and wash fast. They can be used to dye clothes like tie dyeing from the 70's and many other scrunch, fold and twist techniques suitable for creating your own quilt fabric, for those challenged by the idea of directly painting a design. The fact that you will want to iron your fabric or garment after the proces means it is heat set. Alternatively it will set with time. I can assure you once the colour is dry it is not going anywhere. For example, the Procin type dyes can be bleached out of a fabric but the Genesis Creation Colour will not bleach out..it is fast!. It is a finally milled acrylic paint that acts like a dye...ie goes into the fibres, not sit up on top. It is environmentally freindly as no rinsing is required, it is completly non toxic..you could drink it..but it would stain your denches! When I am home back in Australia, email me for more details on availability...it is not sold in stores. Gail us

What a wonderful adventure you are taking us on with the 3 Sisters! What do you use to stabilize the fabric before painting on it with the aloe and paint combo? Also is there a particular fabric that this painting style works best on? Thank you

Dear Terry P...Annette here again answering for Gail...The Aloe Vera that she uses comes from the health food store....IT IS NOT the GREEN kind we typically see ..instead it is clear and is in gel format!

Hey Stinki...Annette here...Gail wanted me to share with you the formula for the colours and aloe....It is a 3 to 1...more aloe than colour....but feel free to experiment !

As others have already mentioned I am very impressed with all of your talent! This work is truly beautiful, full of rich design and masterful execution. Thank you all for letting us in on the process. My question….. Gail are these inks and paints wash fast and light fast? And does the change in the fabrics’ hand comes from the pigments or the aloe gel?

Gail I Love your painting, you have an artist back ground too, and this I can see, it's simply a beautiful piece of art. I can't believe I asked Annette that question. I love to paint but its all ceramics and wall!! As my eyes traveled across your painting I was wowed at all the movement, Beautiful. Art is alot like Photography isn't it? You are capture-ing the same things. Now I feel like thats a dumb question. Photography is pictures of art. Silly me is getting all confused!! Im enjoying you three sisters and you all three are equally talented. Thanks for sharing

Your work is beautiful. I would like to know if the aloe that you use is the same stuff that can be found in the drug store, the stuff for burns? What I've seen is usually green. Thanks, Terry P
