Second: Don't be afraid to break the rules ... even if they are your own! Ellen - San Pedro, CA |

She passed away six years ago, but her memory lives forever in my mind with so many little "nuggets" I guess you could say, that she left with me. Some of the words I have used most in my life from her are: "Let your words run through your mind before they tumble off your tongue". What a valuable lesson to live by. Thanks for this reminder today. Dana in Olive Branch, MS |

She died some years later, but I never have forgotten her emphasis on "quality control", starting with preparing the fabric, accurate cutting, accurate piecing, checking at each step to be sure that everything is the right size, so that the work is going to go together just right. It has saved me many hours of frog sewing (Rippit, Rippit, Rippit) over the years since taking her classes. Pat in Rockport, TX |

It's been 31 years and he's still a part of my life. The impact he had is lifelong. Thanks for this post. I sent Mr. Perry an email this morning. Ü We can't thank our teachers enough for the positive impact they have on our lives. Kelly in CO |

"Don't let your mistakes be wasted on you". So when something unfortunate happens while quilting (as well as other ventures) - I try to learn from the mistake, figure out a way to avoid it happening in the future, and invent a way to overcome the problem. This advice has served me well. |
