Justin, if you're reading this, you deserve a medal. First, you have to fix a flat. Not only that, you have to submit to being photographed doing it. That means no swearing. AND you have several nice people "helping." I don't know many people who could do that and remain calm. Congratulations!

ok, ok, ok...I DID NOT say anything off camera...LOL! Funny thing, I don't even remember thinking a naughty thought but knowing me, I did! Poor ol Ricky though, does work - ALOT. He has to do the filming and then, he sits with the laptop for hours downloading the raw footage and then makes the edits, compiles the video, and then he has to upload. So, I guess we'll cut him some slack if it doesn't look like he's doing anything. Besides, we both have things we like to do so for me, it's driving and luggin' things around and Ricky, it's being creative with the camera. Glad you're all enjoying the blogs cuz it's sure making this long trip NOT so long. See ya soon in NY, Justin

So I'm wondering what Justin said "off camera!" LOL! I don't think I would have remained so peaceful in that situation ... Have safe(r) travels from now on. Ellen - San Pedro, CA

I think your next purchase needs to be a Garmen or Tom Tom GPS system. It will help you locate places like tire centers, Wal-Marts and hotels. It even has a feature that will locate emergency care. A great thing to have while traveling. Good luck on your trip. Barbara

I liked Justin's response to the flat tire troubles--Kentucky is a beautiful state. My husband was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, in 1969 and we lived in Clarksville, TN. We met wonderful friends there and have some fond memories. When I think of Kentucky, I remember how green and beautiful it was. Hope you guys have a trouble-free trip the rest of the way! When I used to travel cross country, I would take the jack and spare tire and put it behind the driver's seat, so it would be handy. In the olden days ('80), when I took the tire out of the trunk I could pack a lot more stuff there. Only had to change the tire once, driving across Montana after my husband and I were married and traveling from WA to AL. I heard a funny noise, and decided to pull over and check it out. The steel belt had come through the tire and was whacking the car. Fortunately, the tire didn't go flat, but we changed the tire in the middle of nowhere. Keep your tire stuff handy and you may never need to use it again. from Neotsu, OR

Justin looks like the man to have around in the time of trouble. Hope the road to NY is a smoother one on Sunday. I don't know where in NY you are headed, but our area, WNY is expecting some cold weather to move in on Mon. The weatherman is saying that 4 letter word, "snow". Happy Trails.... Agnes

Ricky and Justin--sorry for the tire hassles but I enjoyed the scenery. I was just in KY and wondering what all the pretty purple-flower trees were, which I believe you called Redbud trees. So thanks for that, too! I hope you arrive here in NY safely and having found a spare tire.

Wow, you guys, looks like you all had a real adventure this trip. Looks like you had an angel on your shoulder too, as you did not wreck when that tire blew (had a friend flip a truck pulling a camper whose tire blew once - not a pretty scene). Hope you all find your tire repair soon and have an uneventfull trip the rest of the way. Wave when (or if) you pass through WV Mandy

Hi Ricky and Justin: Just a quick note to ask how Papaw is doing, did he have the procedure done yet? If so did it go well? Vicki was too excited yesterday and forgot to ask. You gave her the thrill of her life, sorry I missed it. Take care. Aunt Ronnie

Ricky, there has got to be tires for trailers in the fine state of Kentucky because the horse breeders do not ride their thoroughbred horses from farm to farm. Good luck. Judy in AZ
