I marched with an indoor drum ensamble just like that when I was in college - and yes that really was a VERY good middle school group. The children in the marching band were terrific! While there certainly is controversy surrounding the "underground railroad quilts," it's still a lot of fun to to talk about those stories and find good reason to use the paper quilt blocks to create lovely pieces for Adair's classroom.
