“Picture This” is my interpretation of what the world would look like if we all lent a helping hand. I’ve recently had the privilege of becoming involved with the Miracles in Action organization. Like Fabric of Life, their mission is to help poor families help themselves. We live in a world where millions of children live in extreme poverty and unsanitary conditions, are without clean or safe drinking water and receive no formal education. To break the cycle of poverty and promote economic growth children worldwide must have a chance to attend school. The young girl in this quilt is jumping for joy as she holds a bottle of clean drinking water and a book. Through helping hands she will have an opportunity to go to school, be able to support herself and look to a future where she can have a home to call her own. Nothing is impossible and simple acts of generosity can and will change our world. |
