I am married and have three young daughters so I always have someone to make a quilt for! My husband and I run a business from home, so I get to be here for my family, but with a bunch of little ones running around, the only quilting time I get is after the kids go to bed!

Well, it's finally done.  I finished my coneflower quilt.  After I got all the swirly quilting done I realized that the flower didn't stand out enough so I added some more and different thread.  I'm much happier with it now.  Here's the finished product....

And here are some closer views....

I really like this technique.  I enjoy painting and quilting so it's the best of both worlds for me.  And this is the same technique that I used on my panel for "FriendLily Blossoming".  By the way, do you know how hard it was for me to keep my big mouth/typing fingers shut?  We had decided to keep quiet about the quilt and so way back in February when I was working on my panel I was having a horrible time trying to come up with something to blog about!  Hee hee!  Anyway, it was so fun seeing what the other members of the group were doing while working on their panels.  I documented my progress and thought you might like to see it....

The original photo we used for the quilt is one that I took last year during our local pond tour.  The lady who "owns" those water lilies is on the tour again this year and my mom and I will be going back there next weekend!  I might just bring her a picture to show what her beautiful flowers inspired.  Today is day two of the pond tour so that's where I'll be all day!

Have a great week everyone!
