Participating in the SoTTT friendship exchange was the best quilting experience I've ever had. Thank you Debbie, Clara, and your fabulous volunteer sorting teams for making it happen.

12525_p6120006.jpgThis is my 2011 SOTTT remembrance pendant/necklace made from self handmade tubular brocade fabric beads, Austrian crystal flat back beads, glass beads, pearls, a button, and a tiny glass bottle filled with threads and some "bunny ears" from my HST stash.  I took Dawn (Scoopie) Siden's comment to heart when she suggested several months ago to save those precious threads we trimmed from our HSTs.  I plan to wear my necklace to Houston's 2011 Fall Festival.  As an aside, it took me approximately 1 1/ 2 months to work out all the design/construction issues with this necklace (as well as 6 other custom necklaces so far).  I had so much fun making these necklaces for the special people involved, while on the back burner of my mind I was thinking about the quilt I was going to make with all those fabulous HSTs from all of you!

The above photo shows those original 19 little bottles that contain the "bunny ears" from my 600+ HSTs.  They will end up in a special memorabilia shadow box with "other" SOTTT artifacts later on.

Now I need to work on my HST quilt No. 1!
