I met Lotti this week!
She's so sweet! She had put out an open invitation on the forum to see if anyone would be interested in meeting up at the Field Museum and since my kids were on spring break we all went. What a wonderful person she is. I'm so glad to have met yet another TQS friend in real life. We wandered around and looked at all the interesting things the museum had to offer. Even though it's only about 30 minutes from my house I don't think I've been there since Katelyn was 3 or 4 years old. Brooke and Morgan had never been there. They had a good few hours before we had to say goodbye. Thank you Lotti for the wonderful day! I'm so glad we were able to meet and I hope you're enjoying the rest of your trip(s)! Katelyn took a ton of pictures while we were there including this one of me and Lotti and Sue the Tyrannosaurus Rex so I'll share a few of them here....
A view of the museum from upstairs
The beautiful ceiling
The gorgeous mosaic that Lotti was excited to see. You can read about it here.
This wall was pretty cool. It depicts a bunch of different living things. The quote inside reads "...from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved. -- Charles Darwin"
These are supposed to be some kind of prehistoric something-or-other but they look like quilting designs to me! And speaking of quilting designs, I did do some quilting on my Lenten Rose quilt....
The actual flower is done...
...and I started the dense background quilting. The kids (thankfully!) go back to school this week -- although it's a shortened week due to Easter. We will be spending the holiday at my parent's house. Happy Easter to you and your families! Have a great couple of weeks everyone! |
