Here's something I read in today's newspaper, that I found to be very up-lifting and encouraging advice. If you have trouble tossing and turning at night, thinking of things left un-done, turn your list around. Go over in your mind each thing you accomplished during the day, giving yourself a mental pat-on-the-back. The list might be mundane things, creative things, responsible things, kind things. Depending on how "down" you are, you could even list "baby steps," like getting out of bed, or getting dressed. In this way, you will be kind to yourself and not beat yourself up on the "what could have been" or "should've been" done. Like, for instance, tonight I can remember that today I printed out June's pattern, and appliqued 1/2-side of a stem on a small block for the Round Robin I'm participating in!
