Road to California Highlights - Part Deux

The highlights just keep rolling in as more enchanting quilts hit the walls of the Ontario Convention Center.  The variety of quilts was astounding and it seems this year that the level of quilting has risen to an exceptionally high level.

Let's take another look around...just push Play.

Bernina Videos

Did you know that TQS has over 40 instructional videos created by Bernina for our member's viewing pleasure?  Instructors Nina McVeigh and Susan Beck take you through everything from Decorative Stitch Applique to Crazy Patchwork Made Easy to Machine Embroidered Applique.  The TQS Bernina library has been growing with creativity for more than three years, is it time for you to take a peek?

Here are three of the most popular videos of 2009:

Dynamic Double Blanket Stitching

Stitch Straight with Guides

Sashiko by Machine

Quilters Hit the Road + Contest!

License plates are an opportunity to tell the world about your interests while traveling on the road.  And quilting is no exception.  We found lots of clever plates while recently visiting the Road to California show.  This gave us an idea, why not see what other "quilty" license plates are out there.  So, we are giving you a chance to win a TQS goodie bag.

We'd love to get photos of license plates, or their frames, from all over the world that expresses  creativity when it comes to quilting and travelling the open highway.  If you'd like more information on the contest and to see a few examples of some clever license plates, just push play and hit the road.

Dancing in the Station

And keeping with a travel theme, look what happened at the Central Station of Antwerp.   Two hundred dancers put this together with just two rehearsals of "Do Re Mi."    Touch the arrow to make your way to the station.

Lace Museum

If you can't make it to Washington D.C. to see the Behind the Scenes Lace/Quilt Tours mentioned in the January 19th Newsletter, maybe you can visit the Lace Museum and Guild in Sunnyvale, California.  It is one of only two museums in the United States dedicated solely to the art of making lace.  A new exhibition will be opening soon.

Click here to see what's on its way.  We'll give you a hint, it might be something you'd find in your grandmother's drawers.
