Photo by Gregory Case Photography On the Move: It's Almost Taping Time in Boulder Whoo-hoo! Can you believe it? It's time to shoot another informational, inspirational, and fun season of TQS shows! The migration begins very soon as Alex, Ricky, Justin, John, and the TQS crew begin their journey to Boulder, CO, where we'll be taping 12 shows in just six days, beginning August 4th. Whew! Keep up with our shenanigans by following us each day on the Daily Blog...and "raise your hand" if you have tickets to attend a day's taping.
At one of our last tapings in Boulder, we found a fascinating site, the Dushanbe Tea House. The Teahouse was given to Boulder by its sister city, Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. This wondrous site was created by over 40 artisans in Tajikistan and then shipped to Boulder. Click on the button below to discover more about this unique place.

Summer School's in Session: Hand Quilting with Alex
Alex's Hand-Quilting Summer School is still in session with Lessons 6 and 7 coming your way. First up, in Lesson 6, Alex gives newbie quilters some solid advice about quilting in a hoop. In Lesson 7, she presents a quick demo on how to join pieces of batting together to achieve a specific size. This is a great demo for quilters of any level or inclination...hand or machine.
Upcoming lessons include discussions about needles and selecting your backing fabric.

Try This Free Project: Vinyl Makeup Bag

We used the leftovers from the recently vinyl-covered-cotton market bag project (read the article here) to make this cute and very practical makeup carry all.
We used the instructions from Cheryl Malkowski's Tech Bag pattern, minus the quilting. The make-up brush roll was inspired by the one we saw featured here.
