Let’s Create the Worlds Largest Online Quilt Show!
Spring has sprung and Ricky and Alex are running across country hither and yon! This past weekend, Alex at the Chicago quilt festival and was mobbed by World Quilt Community Members expressing delight and exclaiming, “It’s a New Day!”
Alex quickly seized the moment and asked who had posted their quilts online. Only three people said “yes”. Just think, if every member posted just ONE quilt we would have over 16,000 quilts online! Help us create the world’s largest resource for quilt images. Each of you can post up to six!
How do you do it ? It’s easy. Go to Update My Profile on the menu bar. If you haven’t created your profile, please do. In each case (personal profile or quilt profile), you enter the information first – then submit – then go back and upload the photos. We want to see your beautiful and diverse quilts. We want to know the stories and thoughts behind them. We know that all quilts come from the same place, our hearts. It’s time to share. Do you feel our peer pressure? .

Paducah is Around the Corner / Join in the Fun with the Name Tag Game
We know a lot of Quilt Show members will be at Paducah for the AQS show and contest April 25-28 and we thought it might be cool if you could identify yourselves to each other. We have come up with a Quilt Show badge logo and would like to see how YOU make it into a personal name tag. Piece it – appliqué it – fuse it- just make it, and put your Screen Name on it for fun.
The size should be about 4” x 4” so members can easily spot each other. When you visit Ricky and Justin at the Tims Art Quilt Studio booth sporting your new name tag, be sure to proclaim – It’s A New Day! You’re bound to run into fellow World Quilt Community Members – so wear your badge.
Quick and easy instructions. Position a two inch lime green square in the center of a four inch rich sky blue background square (could fuse). Satin stitch around the green with yellow. Add the star (fuse or appliqué), then embroider or write your Screen Name across the bottom. If you choose to quilt it, finish it off with bright red satin zig-zag.

What is so exciting is that as we move forward we can customize this show to reflect who we are as a community. We hope you’ll enjoy and appreciate our efforts to create a program that is unique. |
