Judy brought this pattern back in 2009 as she updated the piecing to make it easier. I did the quilting for her on my longarm. |

I took Judy B. Dales curved piecing class at the Quilt Gallery in Kalispell, MT. We had to design our own pattern & then piece it using Judy's method. I also added trapunto behind the ribbons. |

 | | sissy161 Presents: Batik Beauty Quilt #: 1016476 Added on 03/16/2010
My only paper-pieced quilt to date. Started at Hands of Friendship Quilt Guild retreat with Mabeth Oxenreider. Loved picking the batik fabrics for this quilt. Took viewers' choice first place at local quilt (HFQG) show. Will post a better picture later; this one is more of a picture of my Aussie pup Cash than of the quilt. |

This is a wedding gift for a close friend. Used fabric from "Finger Paints" line in Sapphire Blue with green. It is heavily quilted, taking me 55 hours on the longarm. I think the traditional pattern and the heavy quilting makes it look "old." |

 | | SandyinCO Presents: Autumn Winds Quilt #: 1016471 Added on 03/14/2010
This is the second small quilt I have made as a member of an Art Quilt Challenge Club. I love Autumn - its colors, the shapes of the leaves, and the smells. I especially love it when gusts of wind come along, pick up some leaves and swirl them around in the air. I couched copper-colored metallic cord to depict the swirls of the wind and echo quilted along the cords. Each leaf is two leaves fused together, and the stems are stems from real leaves left in my yard last fall. The leaves are attached only at the base of each leaf. |

This was a fun way to use up lots of scraps. I used Ricky's suggestion to keep the center strip the same color in all the blocks. |

 | | GuysQuilt2 Presents: Abby's Garden Quilt #: 1016461 Added on 03/11/2010
Watching Sue Nickels' episode on here about machine applique changed my mind about trying applique. I started this last Nov. as a Christmas present for a 7 yr old niece. Sue is right when she says it's not a fast method so here it is March and finally finished. But this way I get to deliver it in person so even better. I had fun adding various bugs and earthworms within the quilting and quilted her name in, too. I should add that the pattern is not quite totally original as I borrowed/modified some of the flowers from various sources. |

 | | arcadefiddle Presents: Little Cherry Pickers Quilt #: 1016459 Added on 03/10/2010
I love, LOVE how this quilt came out! I wanted to do an appliqué that was slightly traditional, but definitely updated. The tree trunk is many pieces woven together and then splitting again to resemble roots. I particularly love the birds; the soft lavender/pink print makes them look like they're made out of fine Japanese porcelain. |

 | | JETTY Presents: Bright Stars Quilt #: 1016455 Added on 03/09/2010
This was my first attempt at star blocks which I pieced last year, and now having my long arm machine practiced my quilt techniques using a ruler for stitching in the ditch, and I also practiced lots of freehand fillers in each star block. I freehand feathered the borders. |
