Reagan's First Quilt
Quilt #: 1017578   Added on 09/01/2010

I wanted to create a first quilt that would be timeless for my granddaughter - a quilt that would grow with her. so I made this lap quilt for her first birthday. I wanted it to be comfortable for her in her crib and one that she can use as a lap quilt as she grows.

I used a Jelly Roll by Moda Fabrics - the "Martinique" collection, to make this lovely quilt. I machine pieced and quilted the entire quilt using my Pfaff 2124.

Reflections of the Past
Quilt #: 1017553   Added on 08/28/2010

A collection of blocks from various quilt shops using William Morris Civil War Reproduction prints. I made a few fabric changes in the finishing portion, but generally followed the design. It is quilted on my long arm using feathers, feathers and yes, more feathers. The batting is a thin layer of cotton and Hobbs Tuscany Wool on top to increase loft and provide definition for the feathers.

Heart & Home is a jellyroll quilt made from a gift jellyroll of Kansas City Troubles fabric. The original design stopped at the first resting strip and had a few more rounds of 2 1/2 strips. I added the yo-yo vine border and a wider, single fabric focal print from the same fabric line.

Machine Paths Quilting
Quilt #: 1017551   Added on 08/28/2010

This was my very first attempt at machine quilting of any type. Since the quilt top itself was an experiment in design, I made the quilting an experiment as well. First I tried the walking foot, gave up on that and went to freehand. After a few swirls and such, I tried doodling with drawing, and had lots of fun just seeing what the needle would produce!
