To the side are log-cabin-like blocks with Asian motifs at the center. The flowers have been embellished with hot-fix rhinestones. The border was made from a fabric with a vine in it. I had to piece it together to keep the vine running around the quilt. The lower left-hand corner had a pair of cranes appliqued onto the border. This helped cover up a spot where the border was being especially difficult (LOL). I also emphasized the moon by putting a second layer of batting underneath. This wallhanging was made for my daughter-in-law for her birthday. She has had a TERRIBLE year, undergoing surgery on her cervical spine for a tumor, after months of pain and diagnostic procedures (usually more painful).
