"Abstract art is easy!" I was working with a boy who has Noonan Syndrome and very poor fine motor skills during an art lessons. He intensely dislikes art (or anything to do with using his hands). But we got through the 'Paint an abstract picture. It's easy' lesson somehow without major tantrums or total refusal. I had cut out shapes for him from bits of coloured paper. He arranged them (he is also colour blind) and I glued them down. I sneaked this work into MY bag at the end of the lesson, and turned it into a Journal Quilt when I got home. Lorchen |
