Here's what Caryl had to say about creating the quilt, "In the January of 2020, we spent a week in Tucson, AZ and visited the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, where we took hundreds of photos. The inspiration for this quilt came from a flowering barrel cactus. Using a digital editing program, I changed all of the colors in the original photograph and then painted the individual elements in the photograph using the touchscreen of my Microsoft Surface Design Studio computer. The final image and matching binding strips were printed on cotton fabric by Spoonflower.com.

The surface is heavily quilted with dozens of hues blending the colors of the petals. The background is quilted in a meander pattern."

16:45 but I think I was too late to enter. My monitor gave out and cp was down.
Love these puzzles. Work as many as I can find.

Fun contest. Usually work the largest (289-300) piece non-rotating so fun to do this easy one. Finished in 9:23.

Did the contest puzzle 81 pieces in 11:13 minutes. I'm used to doing the puzzles in the 289 or 300 piece option. Don't see those options available here. Hints for those not used to this. Do the side pieces first; then I sometimes (not always) sort the pieces by those that have a hill at the top (put all those on one side of the puzzle) and the ones that have a valley at the top, put all those on the other side of the puzzle. This helps to find the missing pieces. I usually only do this sorting for puzzle pieces that have a lot of the same color and not much distinctive coloring.

I enjoy the puzzles but always use the non-rotating version.

Okay, I haven't been doing the puzzles lately. I learned not to get lost on the shape of one piece today. I got obstinate and probably wasted more than 5 minutes looking for one shape. I agree with going for color. It took me 42:09, but I love...

28:56 min. Never done one like this, or I am over 75 years old, lucky that it didn't take me longer, HA!
